I've been having a right battle with my foundation recently, I don't know what it is but it just doesn't seem to sit right on my face and ends up going really patchy. I've tried everything including changing my skincare routine, trying new primers, you name it I've tried it. It's really weird as I've never had a problem with the Estee Lauder 'Double Wear' foundation before, it normally covers over everything and just leaves your skin looking flawless. I don't know whether it's the time of the year which is effecting my skin or what. I know this probably isn't the best thing to do and no beauty expert would recommend this but I was desperate so I bought the Rimmel 'Lasting Finish' corrector concealer to try and just cover over the patchiness.. no this didn't work, however, I did find myself absolutely loving the concealer in general. It has amazing coverage and is ideal for any blemishes and under your eyes. All I would say is make sure you get the right colour as mine is a little bit pale for me and because of the high coverage it does leave me looking a little bit like a ghost, but I love it regardless.
I decided to buy Primark's 'Precious Metals' liquid eyeshadow in the colour 'Copper Dip' (which I would say is more of a rose gold with copper undertones) because I've heard a lot of people going on about how good it is. I've got to say I didn't have very high hopes because of the consistency of the product, I didn't understand how it wouldn't crease really badly and leave you eyes looking clumpy and horrible. I was very wrong and it actually worked really well! I have been wearing it everyday since, it's the perfect colour for blue eyes as it really does make them pop. I would like to just give a little warning to anyone that plans to use it, a little goes a very long way. The first time I used it it looked really bad because I used waaaay too much. The best way to do it is to dab it on with your fingers, I found this gave the most even finish. Do it right and it looks amazing!
Having full eyebrows is very on trend and is something I am for sure following. I do have fairly full eyebrows to start with but giving them extra definition is something I do on a daily basis. However, I think it's very easy for them to look very unnatural wether you use powder, pencil, or pomade. I've tried everything and now I stick to my trusty pomade but even then if you use the tinniest bit too much it will look really bad. Luckily I have a fringe so if it does mess up a bit you can't really tell but I would not go a day without using my Rimmel 'Brow This Way' to save the day. I use the clear one but I believe they do it in lots of different colours. I love it because not only does it separate the hair to give a really natural look but it also contains argan oil. I have found that lots of brow gels are a bit like glue but this one is ideal for the job. The small brush makes it really easy to use and gives you a really precise finish. The perfect alternative to all the high end brow gels such as Benefit's 'Gimme Brow'.
The L'Oreal 'False Lash Superstar X fiber' is something that I knew I wanted to try as soon as it came out. I bought it a couple of months ago and initially I was really disappointed because I think my expectations were far too high. I ended up going back to my Benefit 'They're Real' mascara but that started to dry up and became unusable resulting in me going back to this one. Using the L'Oreal mascara again was such a good decision, however, I don't like the result that stage 1 and 2 give, I think it's far too thick and is a bit too clumpy for me. I don't have the best eyelashes to begin with so using stage 2 didn't work well at all, I only use the first step which I think gives a much better result. It's natural looking but it really lengthens your eyelashes and separates them beautifully. I would recommend trying this mascara as I think for £10 it doesn't get much better than this. I actually think it's better than any high end mascaras I have used.
The final thing that I have been loving recently is the Primark 'Super Matte' liquid lipstick in the colour 'Kendall'. As soon as I swatched this lipstick I knew straight away that I was going to buy it. I love the colour so much even if it is more purple than I'm used to. I went through a stage where I wore matte lipstick all the time and then went back to more moisturising lipsticks until I tried this one, it converted me straight back to matte lips once again. One thing I would say is that I have noticed my lips have been a lot dryer which is something I never normally suffer with, whether this is because of this lipstick or just the weather I'm not sure. I don't want to blame it on this lipstick as I'm not 100% sure but I just thought I'd warn anyone planning on buying this. I mean, it hasn't stopped me wearing it so I don't think it should stop you either!
